Light at the end of the tunnel

It’s only been a few months since we last spoke to you, but it seems like things in the UK are slowly starting to improve. With the vaccination rollout in full force and the easing of restrictions now in progress, we can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

We continue to be hugely grateful for your loyalty and trust in us throughout these difficult times, so from all the team at OakNorth Bank, thanks for saving with us.

Our 2020 Annual Results

In March, we released our annual results for 2020, revealing we lent £1.1B to UK’s Missing Middle – growth businesses that are the most significant contributors to economic and employment growth, but that still struggle to get access to the debt finance they need.

The loans OakNorth Bank have provided to date have directly helped with the creation of over 22,500 new jobs and more than 17,600 new homes (the significant majority of which are affordable and social housing).

These businesses will play a vital role in the post-pandemic economic recovery, so we’re proud to have continued supporting them over the last 12 months.

What’s new with the Mobile App?

Great news! We’ve made some more improvements to our Mobile Banking App.

Since our last update we’ve introduced push notifications to keep you updated on your OakNorth Bank account. To opt-in, simply log in to the app where you’ll be invited to update your preferences.

Coming soon – we’ve listened to your feedback and will be bringing in-app funding very soon!

Stay Safe – Protect yourself from Fraud

Be Aware: Fraudsters may try and obtain your personal information through phone calls, text messages or emails that look genuine.

Here’s some top tips that will help you stay protected:

  • Don’t give your username or passwords to anyone. We will never ask for these.
  • Don’t assume an email request or phone call is genuine. If you feel something isn’t right, contact the company via your normal contact method.
  • Don’t keep outdated versions of software on your devices. This increases the risk of your data being compromised.

If you receive an email that looks like it’s not from us, please send it to phishing@oaknorth.co.uk and we’ll look into it.

If you missed our last update, we wanted to remind you that our app allows you to personalise your account by giving it a name, helping you to imagine that all important savings goal.

Since launching the name your savings feature, we’ve found that:

  • 14% of you are saving for a new home or home improvements
  • 13% are saving for retirement
  • 9% for a holiday
