Supporting the sale and leaseback of a new dementia care facility in Scotland
The Challenge
Founded in 1991, the Care Concern Group is a family-run business consisting of 78 care homes specialising in general nursing and dementia care across the UK. As the number of people with dementia in Scotland continues to grow, the Group was looking for a funding partner which could support its growth ambitions.
Opportunity & Outcomes
We provided Care Concern Group with £18.5m to support the development of a new 81-bedroom specialist dementia care home in Aberdeen. Due to our expertise in supporting leasehold and freehold assets contemplating sale and leaseback transactions, we were able to support the Group’s leaseback agreement with a leading European fund.
Having worked alongside OakNorth Bank on numerous transactions, we were once again hugely impressed with their knowledge of our business and the care home industry, making them the ideal partner for our latest sale and leaseback project.
